Francis Askew School Council

Each class in Key Stage 2 votes, at the beginning of the school year, for someone who will represent their views to the school staff.

The school council are the voice of the children in the school and they collect the views of the pupils.  They meet regularly with Mr Finnerty, our year 4 teacher, and Rights Respecting School lead.  Children in the School Council are asked to carry out many duties on behalf of the other children.  They have chosen the colour schemes for the toilets in our new school, opened in January, 2016. They are sending out a questionnaire for all pupils to find out what they think about our school meals.

Council members from Y5 interviewed the Archbishop of York on his recent visit.

We also work closely with the Rotary club of Great Britain and we have a group of Rotakids who hold committee meetings with their own Chairperson.
